We currently have 17 satellite groups registered with MPQ, with the possibility of one more coming on board. I have referred anyone who has advised me of wanting to join a satellite group, to at least one contact and sometimes two depending on their location request, time of day, day of the week and how many times the group meets per month. I also keep in mind whether whether or not a group is open, as some groups meet in each others homes and are restricted as to size. I have advertised in the MPQ newsletter from time to time to see if there are any members looking for a group and have tried to encourage satellite groups to let me know if they have any space for another member. I always would also like to know if another group is forming in order to include it in the MPQ records. Sometimes, at the time of a Quilt Show, ther may be requirements for quilters and/or groups to provide something like a table top, and through the satellite groups is a quick way to get the word out apart from the Newsletter and the Meetings.
